Storage

Where Rejarsume keeps things on your device, what takes room, and how to see it, free it and keep it safe, without anything being deleted automatically.

Rejarsume keeps what you write in your browser's own storage. This page is about where each kind of thing lives and how much of the device it takes.

Where things are kept

WhatWhere
Resumes, groups, images, fonts, and a few preferencesThe browser's IndexedDB database
The interface language, the theme, the sidebar and the pane sizesThe browser's local storage
Which tours you have seenThe browser's local storage
The app itself, once it is cachedThe browser's cache, for offline use

All of it belongs to this site in this browser. Another browser, another profile on the same browser, and a private window each have their own, and a private window loses its own when it closes. See Local first.

What takes room

A resume is text, and takes a negligible amount of room. Images and fonts are what a device notices. Each is stored once and shared by every resume, so the same photograph in ten resumes is one file.

The Storage section of Settings shows what Rejarsume holds: how many Images and Fonts there are, how much room they take, and how many nothing refers to any more. Each line leads to its page.

It does not draw a bar of how full the device is. A browser's storage allowance depends on the disk and on the site, and the number it reports is shared and padded, so a percentage would be invented precision. What the page shows is what is really stored.

Freeing room

Nothing is deleted automatically. An image can be unused only because you have not placed it yet, so deciding is left to you. The Images and Fonts pages show what is unused, and each has Delete, which asks first. See Images and fonts.

Deleting a resume removes it for good, because there is no other copy. Archiving takes one out of the way without deleting it. See Organize your resumes.

Keeping it safe

Storage that a browser holds can be cleared by you, by a privacy tool, or by the browser when the device is short of room. Write a backup now and then, and after a big piece of work. See Backup and restore.
