Quick start

Make your first resume in Rejarsume, change it, and export it as a PDF.

View as Markdown

This takes about a minute and needs nothing installed and no account.

From an empty library to a first resume: the New resume dialog, a word changed in the Markdown, the Saved indicator, and the Export menu.
  1. Open the library

On the landing page, choose Open the app. You arrive at your library, which is empty the first time and says No resumes yet.

  2. Make a resume

Choose New resume. Leave Start from on Example resume for now: it is a finished resume you can write over, so you can see what each part of the format does before you write any of it. Give it a name if you like, then choose Create resume. A resume with no name is called Untitled resume.

  3. Change it

The editor opens on your resume. The Markdown is in the Code pane and the page it produces is the Paper. Change a word in the Markdown and the paper changes with it. On a screen narrower than 1200 pixels the panes are tabs (Code, Paper and Style) instead of sitting side by side.

    Resumes are written like this:

    resume.md

    # Ada Lovelace

    ::contact[ada@example.com]{icon=envelope}

    ## Summary

Mathematician and the author of the first published algorithm.

Each ## heading starts a section, and the first line is your name. The shape of the file explains the rest.

  4. Check that it saved

You do not save by hand. The editor writes every change to your device and says Saved when it has. There is no other copy, which Local first explains.

  5. Export it

Choose Export. PDF prints the exported document, so choose “Save as PDF” in the print window and leave the scale and margins as they are. Under File you can instead download HTML, Markdown, JSON Resume, Plain text or a Bundle (.zip).
